Daikin look to develop their 'success framework'

Diakin work with Head Light to develop their competency framework

We are delighted to be working with Daikin UK as the team looks to develop their ‘success framework’ for use throughout the UK business.

Daikin provides innovative, premium quality, indoor climate management solutions across its residential, commercial and industrial customers and has a worldwide reputation for quality and technology. With strong, embedded corporate values, Daikin in the UK is looking to build on these by making a more direct link with day-to-day business behaviour and performance.

Julie O’Donnell, Learning & Development Specialist at Daikin comments, “When we began to think about this project we knew that we didn’t want to develop a competency framework per se, but to construct a framework which clearly translates our core values into meaningful actions that shape how we do business. We have always known that our values were a solid foundation on which to build as they are widely understood, accepted and supported throughout the business.”

Julie has begun to work with Head Light through a series of workshops involving her HR colleagues to take these values and build them into a Success Framework. These sessions have been facilitated by our Head of Business Psychology, Debbie Hance.

Julie continues: “Once our Success Framework is in place, the next step will be for us to embed the Success Framework into an enhanced performance system so that everyone is clear about what we need to do to be successful in our roles and, in turn, as an organisation. I plan to be able to give our people both the understanding of what needs to be done to build upon, and improve, their performance as well as clear direction to facilitate this.”

“We look to be outcome focussed - and this project is no different: we believe that high performing and engaged people build business success. Over the coming months I shall be looking at how we can measure and evaluate the impact of our investment in this area.”

Ian Lee-Emery, Managing Director of Head Light comments, “Being able to work alongside Daikin at the start of their talent management journey has been a great experience. Julie’s commitment to delivering an integrated and well-thought through programme is inspiring and we very much look forward to helping them to build on their Success Framework in the future.”
