Coming Back Better - Week 3 - More ongoing kudos for ‘lower skilled’, frontline keyworker and public sector jobs

So on to our next “keeper”. Clap for Carers may have run its course and it may not have been universally accepted as a great thing, but for many it did provide a form of recognition that has been somewhat missing in our society. People have told us about putting hand-made ‘thank you’ stickers on their bins for the refuse collectors, of people offering postal workers refreshments and use of their toilets, of people making more effort to thank delivery drivers and writing hand-made cards and gifts for care assistants.…

Coming Back Better - Week 2 - Ensure resilience-building and business continuity are given sufficient attention

Questions that we should be considering within our senior leadership teams now include “How can we come back and retain the resilience we have had to show in the last few months? How do we build a more resilient organisation generally? What have we learned from this crisis and how do we prepare better for the next one?”…

Coming Back Better - Week 1 - A more inclusive approach to flexible working

A clear call for much greater flexibility and more access to remote working for all has been issued on the back of this crisis. Coming Back Better - Introducing our new 5-week series

“We’re all in this together” sing Zac Efron and friends (warning - lowbrow lockdown viewing admission). Well, we are, and we aren’t. The whole world might be affected by Covid19 but individually our experiences of lockdown, isolation and economic uncertainty vary enormously.…

Head Light redesigns and delivers Feedback Facilitation Course for remote teams

We have now developed three new versions of our popular Feedback Facilitator training course. Traditionally run face-to-face, we have adapted the course to work as a blended learning, virtual programme, for organisations whose teams are geographically dispersed, remote teams or for when travel to a face-to-face venue is not possible. The online version (which can be delivered using a range of platforms including WebEx, Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Skype for Business) can be flexibility scheduled to meet business and learner needs, although we recommend completing all four modules in two to four weeks. Each module is only two hours long, to help maintain engagement and focus, with pre-course and inter-module learning activities (including reading, reflecting, watching videos and completing exercises) which help to keep the learning continuous, prevent overload, maintain interest and build incrementally on the topics and concepts covered.…

Eliminating the rituals - Succession Management in a World Disrupted by COVID-19

Companies are gradually adapting to the economic shock and social disruption brought on by this global pandemic. As they rebuild and reorient in preparation for some form of normality, some people processes now just don’t seem to fit, offer relevance or align with a sense of ‘things being different’.…
